8 Days Uganda-Rwanda safari

This safari will take you to both Uganda and Rwanda and it will start from Rwanda and end in Uganda. Day 1: Arrival at Kanombe
Upon your arrival at the airport you will be welcomed and greeted by your safari guide who will brief you and then transfer you to your hotel for a rest. Dinner and an overnight at Kigali Serena Hotel/ Milles Collines Hotel Kigali/ Lemigo Hotel

Day 2: Transfer to volcanoes National Park
Your breakfast will be followed by a city tour in Kigali. You will visit Gisozi Genocide Memorial centre, art and craft shops, marketing centers and other historical sites to experience Rwanda’s culture, life style if time allows. After lunch you will be driven to the north eastern part of Rwanda up to Volcanoes National Park. It’s a two to three hour’s drive from Kigali. On your way to the park you will be amazed by the natural beauty of Rwanda characterized by a thousand hills, have a look on the scenic view and the gorgeous foot hills of the Volcanoes that make up Volcanoes National Park. Day 3: Gorilla tracking
Have breakfast to give you the energy needed for gorilla tracking. Before 8:00am, report to the park Headquarter to get briefed about gorilla tracking and also to meet your park rangers/ escort. Tracking these giant apes is regarded as the most thrilling and the most memorable moment on earth. The time you take to meet the gorillas is unpredictable because it depends on their movements, so some levels of physical fitness is required. And it’s also recommended to carry with you packed lunch and bottled water, Light rain gear, strong boots, long khaki or jean trouser, non flash cameras among other. Sit in the forest among the gorillas listen to them grumble to each other, and marvel at the cheer size of the dominant the silverback. You are strictly allowed to spend only one hour with them. After this wonderful moment come back to the Lodge for leisure.

Day 4: Visit Dian Fossey Grave
Walk up early in the morning for breakfast, and then after take a visit to Dian Fossey Grave yard. This was a famous researcher who carried out research on the behaviors of gorillas. She studied and stayed with them for a period of over 20years. You will learn more about her works and life of these giant apes. Take also a visit to Karisoke which was her research centre. After the hike head back to the lodge for full lunch. And later in late afternoon cross the boarder to Uganda Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (clock will go backward one hour) with a scenic drive all through for the second time gorilla tracking in Uganda. This will be a very wonderful moment to sit with these few remaining mountain gorillas in the world. Day 5: Second day gorilla tracking in Bwindi impenetrable forest
Have breakfast and then get set for Gorilla tracking but first report to the park headquarters for a short briefing about gorilla tracking. After you will be lead by a guide to the forest to begin the activity which is regarded as the most unforgettable experience on earth. Tracking time is unpredictable as it depends on their movements; a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as a sturdy pair of walking shoes, packed lunch and bottled water plus other necessary tracking gears. Sit in the forest among the gorillas, listening to them grumble to each other, and marvel at the cheer size of the dominant male; the silverback. It is such an amazing feeling sitting in the dense rainforest knowing you are with a few of the last remaining mountain gorillas in the world. Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
Have breakfast and then after transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park with packed lunch. You will be driven through the Southern sector of Queen Elizabeth known as Ishasha, this place is commonly known for its tree climbing lions, try to spot lions before proceeding to QENP one of the few parks with a wide variety of animals species such as buffaloes, lion, elephants, buffaloes and various species of antelopes species and birds some of which are rare to other national parks. Day 7: Game drive and launch cruise
Have an early breakfast and then after you will lead by a guide to the savannah area of the park to watch a variety of wildlife. Queen Elizabeth National Park is known for a wide diversity of wild animals such as the big five like the elephants, lions, leopard, buffaloes; others include warthogs, water buck giant forest hog all these may be spotted out during the drive. A slow drive will be made back to the lodge for full breakfast and lunch. In the afternoon, go for a unique 2 hour’s boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward, where you may spot hippos, crocodiles, along side other species of animals that feed along the water shores such as elephants, buffaloes, water buck among other. 8: Departure
